Those of you who have read my post about the Navrati festival are aware that that is a festival with a lot of dancing. One of the dances that are being performed during that festival is the Dandiya dance. Usually the dance is performed with dancers in two rings, one for men and one for women. One of the circles will move clockwise while the other moves counterclockwise. Each dancer has two sticks, or dandiyas, in their hands. While they move around they clack the stick to the partner in the other circle. This makes a good noise, and it is a quite nice dance to observe.
It is also possible to dance this as pairs. So when Capgemini arranged their own dancing festival, I just had to give it a try. Luckily, one of the girls sitting next to me at the office is a master dancer, and she gave me a very good introduction to this. The rhythm is actually quite simple, and it was not to difficult to do this. Or well, I’m not sure if the people who watched this will agree with me if I performed well, but I really enjoyed it. One of the persons on the picture was even voted as the best dancer of the night! Guess you all know who that not was.
Talk to you soon!
